PUPILS

Prince Bishop Students visit Middlesbrough Football Club

Prince Bishop students visited the Riverside Stadium with Mr Smith and Mr Gomez to take part in an English writing course.  Needless to say, they couldn't resist a tour of the stadium or a look at the Championship Trophy!

Sports Relief

We would like to thank all pupils and staff members for raising £200 for Sports Relief.  During the day the pupils took part in many activities, some of which were the 9000 Chair Challenge, 4 minute plank challenge and the row River Tees challenge.

Next year we would hope to raise £250.

Rugby Success

Our rugby team recently entered a rugby competition with 3 other schools. There were 2 special schools and two main stream schools. Not only were they a credit to the school but they also won the competition.

International Art Award

Japanese Art Award
Prince Bishop art teacher Stuart Collier with 2015 Gold Award winner Josh Causier, surrounded by fellow pupils and teaching assistant Vicky Parker

Prince Bishop School is one of only two in the UK invited to submit works as part of the annual International Exchange Exhibition of Children’s Art in Narita City, Japan.

Every year they join schools from around the world in submitting works on a different theme – the topic chosen for 2015 was ‘Play’.

The latest collection features works from Prince Bishop alongside pieces from 14 countries around the world including Uzbekistan, China, Croatia, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Nepal, Vietnam, and Korea.

And there’s special recognition each year with Friendship Awards presented to individual students for the quality of their work – this year out of 434 international entries only 25 artworks received this special award, with Josh Causier the proud recipient of a Gold Award.

    Well done to all !

Fishing club

The Prince Bishop Fishing Club is a very popular course and has grown on each trip. The notice board in school shows its success.

English

A number of year 11 students are staying back on a Thursday to improve controlled assessments and it will become preparation for examinations. It is encouraging that a number of year 10 students have asked if they can start an after school club.
